Included in the Meetinghouse’s theme displays, a “Victorian Room” seems more than appropriate as a reflection of Gilford’s by- gone days and the Meetinghouse's renovations during the late 1800s.
Central to the room display, is a horsehair sofa that has rekindled in the minds of many old-timers the prickliness of their experiences of sitting on such a sofa.
The unique doll carriage and vintage dolls, the Edison (hand-cranked) phonograph, the display cases filled with precious memorabilia, the intricate wreaths (some crafted of human hair and others of wool), the derby hung on the hall tree, the parlor organ, a scrapbook of greeting cards, family portraits, and the antique kerosene slide projector, all these are reminiscent of the Victorian Era.
